An experience that will live with you forever.  Between July and November each year Humpback whales migrate from the Antarctic up the east coast of Australia to the warm waters of Hervey Bay to give birth to their calves before making the long journey back home.  The calm waters in this area offer superb viewing conditions.   A door to door pick up is available from The Lookout Resort to take you to Hervey Bay where,  after a delicious smorgasbord lunch at The Deck Restaurant at the Marina,  you will board The Spirit of Hervey Bay for an exciting afternoon of whale watching.  We are privileged to be able to watch the Humpbacks at this fantastic time and interact with them as they frolic in our warm waters.  It is an amazing interactive experience as the whales often come right up to the boat, standing up in the water to look at you – eye to eye!  The crew will encourage you to make as much noise as possible as this encourages the whales to come to the boat.  It is not unusual to see whales breaching and slapping the water trying to catch your attention!  If you are lucky you may also see schools of dolphins interacting with the whales and “racing” the boat!  Complimentary afternoon tea is provided on the vessel and also a snack for the return journey home.  Lots of eating on
