Just wondering if you hire kites and what prices/brands you offer? I am coming to Noosa for a few weeks in August from cold Tassie and not sure wether to bring my gear. Do you have any wind around then and if so what size kite would be best to bring? Also any local events, get togethers happening then? Thanks for your time Kim.

I forwarded your enquiry on to Kitesurfing Australia this is their reply, hope it helps Derek: “Yes we hire kites, full-setup for the day is $95, we also organise 4wd trips to ‘Blue water lagoon’ at Double Island and ‘Manta Ray Bay’ near Rainbow beach.
End of August is the beginning of the season with northerly winds beginning to blow along the coast, both the places above and the rivermouth are excellent kiting locations.
The school officially opens again on the 20thAugust with the high season ending on May1st.
Most kites used on the coast are between 9-13mtr depending on your weight. Wind speed is betwen 12-20knots. September-October are the strongest wind months with many days being above 16knots from the North.
Kites used are BEST,Ocean Rodeo,Griffin,Flexifoil - all these kites are available to hire.Boards Cyclone or Underground.
WE can keep you informed of any events or kite surfaris, also check the many Forums, ie SEQKA - advanced notice helps us to work best with the wind and keep you informed.

    Regards,

    Martin Reeves”
