Founded in 2000 and still going strong! The 2009 Coolum Kite Festival is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever. ( 3rd - 4th Oct )

As always, the Coolum Kite Festival will showcase some of the best kite flyers from around the world. Kites of all shapes and sizes will be on display including some massive character and theme based kites. The 2009 Festival will also showcase Kite Surfers from around Australia competing in the competitive waves of Coolum Beach. Displays from parachute jumps are also a regular inclusion, as is a huge cultural arts component and a popular music festival  that simmers in the moonlight over Stumers Creek.
